Description: Dukes of Hazzard television show season on DVD
Review: I remember watching this TV show when I was growing up. It was not my mom’s favorite, but I think the rest of us enjoyed the high-flying action of the “General Lee.” Well, my husband started telling our son about this show 2 years ago. So, I decided to buy him one of the seasons on DVD.
For some reason he just fell in love with Rosco P. Coltrane, the bumbling sheriff and crooked partner of J.D. Hogg. So, needless to say, we own all six seasons so far and the last one is on my list to buy our son for Christmas. Last Christmas, I made our son a Rosco sheriff shirt complete with badge and official Hazzard County patches and bought him a black cowboy hat to go with it. He loves to act out these shows with his matchbox cars and now he can dress up as Rosco (which is very often).
Bringing this show back to life in our home led us on a wonderful adventure this past summer. We decided that our son should meet his all-time favorite actor in person. So, we planned a vacation to Nashville, Tennessee, to the annual DukesFest. This is a two-day event celebrating the success of the show with a massive amount of fans and the handful of actors/actresses from the show that are still living. Well, we had a great time and after waiting a long time in the heat, our son finally got to meet and shake the hand of James Best, better known as Rosco.
This show has brought us together as a family . . .sharing the memories we had of this show when we were growing up and making new memories along the way with our own children. I know that our vacation this past summer will be talked about for a long time to come.
Criticism: This TV show may not portray the best of values at times, but good usually prevails in the end. When held in comparison to today’s TV shows, this show is innocent.
