Summertime can be an inspiring time to get fit, lean and healthy. All the fresh fruits and veggies, the farmer’s markets, the family bike rides, and – of course – all of those opportunities to show off a new leaner physique.

So to celebrate this season of healthy choices, we want to know your best summer diet tip.

We’ll give a $50 Visa gift card to a randomly selected reader who leaves a reply at the end of this post with their favorite, most helpful weight loss secret.

Your tip can be a favorite way to eat more healthfully, a favorite weight loss plan or program, a new way of thinking about your body, a useful trick that helps you motivate yourself to move…whatever is most helpful to you!

    I like to make everyday things into mini exercises: brushing teeth (squats), folding clothes (lunges) etc. Always move!

    My diet tip is to drink lots of water. The more hydrated you the less likely you are to mistake being hungry for being thirsty.

  10. I drink only unsweetened coffee, water or tea.

  11. When I am hungry and craving a sweet snack, I eat a banana. It is both sweet and filling.

    Weigh and measure your food servings. It’s very easy to under estimate an accurate serving size.

  15. When you want to reach for a candy bar grab some cherries, strawberries, apples etc.

    Don’t snack between meals. Eat three balanced meals a day. Don’t skip breakfast.

  17. Drink lots of water and incorporate roughage into your diet – takes longer to digest and makes you feel fuller so you don’t eat too many “bad” things

    And then go swimming in it – often.

  20. Make sure you drink water. It fills you up and keeps you from getting dehydrated during the hot weather.
